- Bill Keefe
- President
- Bill is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on strategy and operations and is also very involved in the
Entrepreneurs Association. Prior to Anderson, Bill worked as a research scientist focused on drug discovery and development
for several small pharmaceutical and biotech companies, most recently at Ambrx, a protein therapeutics company. Bill will
be working at Amgen this summer as an intern in the International Operations Strategy group. He received his
undergraduate degree in Biology from Wake Forest University.
- Ping Huang
- VP of Finance
- Ping is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on finance and strategy. Prior to UCLA Anderson, Ping was
pursuing Ph.D. in University of Alabama at Birmingham and his research focus is metabolic disease. Besides his Ph.D. research,
Ping was also involved in Initiative for Life Science Entrepreneurship program and worked with venture capitalist and technology
transfer office on intellectual properties and venture companies due diligence and valuation. Prior to his Ph.D. research, Ping
was a Quality Assurance analyst at Beijing Kawin Biotech in Beijing, China. There, he gained strong analytical and project
management skills through his experience in operation and regulation affaires.
This summer, he will be interning at Applied Biosystems (Applera Corporation) in the Finance group.
- Lawrence Park
- VP of Career Development
- Lawrence Park is at UCLA pursing a concurrent MPH and MBA degree (class of 2009) and has a strong background in strategic
operations and is currently interested in strategy, operations, and marketing in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry.
Prior to coming to UCLA Lawrence worked as a management consultant at Covance Health Economics and Outcomes Services where he
consulted on economic strategies and market placement of pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices for some of the largest
medical product companies (Amgen, Pfizer, J&J, Merck, AZ, and many more). Lawrence grew up in the Pasadena area and graduated
from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in economics and biology.
- Nikhil Bhide
- VP Events
- Nikhil Bhide is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson studying Entrepreneurship and Finance focusing on the
Biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to Anderson, Nik worked in the Corporate Development and Corporate Finance groups at
Genzyme Corp, where he aided the firm in evaluating and executing strategic acquisitions. Prior to Genzyme, Nik was an
analyst in the Healthcare Investment Banking Team at RBC Capital Markets. Nik will be working at Gilead Sciences this
summer as a corporate development intern in the Respiratory Therapeutics Division. Nik holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
- Desiree Chen
- VP Events
- Desiree is full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on marketing. Prior to Anderson, Desiree worked at
Genentech in their Corporate IT (CIT) division. As a business process analyst, she was part of a team responsible for
re-engineering CIT's project management methodology. Before that, she worked as a business analyst at CGI, an IT and Business
Process Services consulting firm. Desiree will be working this summer at General Mills as a marketing intern. She received
her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from MIT.
- Celia Adelson
- VP Marketing & Communications
- Celia is in the full-time MBA program at UCLA Anderson, where she is focusing on entrepreneurship and pursuing a
certificate in Advanced International Management. Prior to Anderson, Celia worked for Marshall Strategy, an international
identity strategy firm in San Francisco. As a consultant, Celia participated in naming, positioning and messaging projects
for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Before that, Celia worked in retail, managing both stationery
and women's clothing stores, which explains how she came to be involved with the Anderson RMA Fashion Show. Celia holds a B.A.
in Human Biology from Brown University.
- Lina Li
- VP of FEMBA events
- Lina is a FEMBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on strategy and operations. She is currently working as a postdoctoral
researcher at UCLA School of dentistry. Lina obtained her Ph.D. in microbiology from Indiana University, Bloomington. As a
scientist, she leads a team of research associates and graduate students in strategizing and implementing drug discovery
experiments. Lina also consults for a startup biotechnology company in improving cost effectiveness and quality assurance. Lina
is actively involved in OPMBA career services, helping professional MBA students leverage the student/alumni network at the
Anderson School of Managment.
- David Huang
- VP of Education
- David is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on finance and strategy. Prior to Anderson, he worked at
Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, a leading biotech company in Houston. As a research scientist and team leader, he led a team to
perform analysis work and evaluate research projects for internal clients, resulting in two ongoing clinical trials. Before
that, he performed cutting edge gene therapy research in the Texas Medical Center and managed the lab as lab manager for
three years. David has published 5 top tier journal articles, filed one patent and has presented his work in numerous national
science conferences. David will join the corporate strategy team at Kythera Biopharmaceuticals this summer as an intern
associate. He received a Bachelor degree in Biology from Tsinghua University and a Masters in Bioengineering from
Rice University.
