Nadia Abuzaineh
President
Nadia Abuzaineh is a full-time MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson pursuing a career in strategy and operations. Prior to Anderson, Nadia worked in project management as a Senior Program Officer at Relief International, an international nonprofit humanitarian aid organization. She managed health, nutrition, microfinance, and livelihoods programs in countries across Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. This summer, Nadia will be working as a UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Teaching Associate through which she will serve as a strategic consultant to executive directors of community-based healthcare and Head Start organizations attending intensive management development programs. Nadia grew up in Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Public Health from Yale University.

Julie is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Graduated with dual Bachelor Degrees in Accounting and Information Systems, Julie worked in the Risk Advisory Services at Ernst & Young (E&Y) for 4 years prior to coming to Anderson. As a senior advisor and CPA at E&Y, she had led numerous teams serving clients across multiple industries and geographic locations. Meanwhile, Julie started her own company in May 2009. As an entrepreneur herself, she enjoys analyzing people's concerns and finding solutions to meet their needs. Her current focus at UCLA Anderson is Finance and Entrepreneurship. She holds several leadership positions in various student clubs,such as Healthcare Business Association, Automotive Business Association and Entrepreneur Association. She will be spending her 2010 summer at Amgen, Inc. as an MBA Intern. Her hobbies are reading, baking and traveling.

VP of Career Development
Rory is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on Human Resources & Organizational Behavior. He is currently the Vice President of Career Development at HBA and also served as the first-year director of the same position. In addition, he participates as the Vice President of Alumni Relations at Greater China Business Association. Prior to attending UCLA Anderson, Rory was a Quality Engineer at Abbott Laboratories, contributing to the quality developments of next-generation stent systems for cardiovascular diseases. Rory will spend this summer at Hewlett-Packard as a Human Resources Management Associate Intern. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.

Markus Loh is a full-time MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson pursuing a career in medical device product management and marketing. Prior to Anderson, he was an R&D mechanical engineer for various biotechnology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area where he developed biochips and lab instruments for drug discovery. This summer, Markus will be a marketing intern at Abbott Diabetes Care in Alameda, California. A native of San Jose, Markus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Pomona College and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

VP Relationship Management (Internal)
Marina is a full-time MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson and is pursuing a career in marketing. Prior to attending Anderson, Marina worked in Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs at Amgen for four years. While in Clinical Development, she managed contracts and negotiated budgets for clinical sites and consultants. In her role in Regulatory Affairs, Marina supported the Marketing Department to ensure promotional material aligned with business goals while complying with FDA regulations. This summer, Marina will be interning with Advanced Sterilization Products, a Johnson & Johnson Company, in the commercial organization. She will help assess company/competitor information and customers' feedback on the quality and competitiveness of ASP products and services and help identify new business opportunities. Marina grew up in Los Angeles and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the California State University, Northridge.

Anshul Debuka

Currently a Full Time MBA student, Anshul Debuka is pursuing Entrepreneurship and Strategy within the Healthcare industry space. He will intern for the Market Intelligence department at Abbott Laboratories during the 2010 summer. Anshul holds a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from Queens University, Kingston, Canada. Prior to Anderson, Anshul was a Product Manager at a Toronto based Healthcare services firm, which provides physicians with business, preventative-care and patient-health management services. Anshul also spends ample time on the squash courts trying to figure why he cannot get his serves right.

Simon is a full-time MBA student focusing on finance and also interested in healthcare marketing. He holds a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from UC Irvine, where he combined experimental data and computer simulations to predict the properties of membrane proteins. After graduation, he joined the California Bureau of State Audits to work on a project involving a stem cell research agency. He later accepted a position as a financial aid director for the California State University. This summer, Simon will intern in Corporate Financial Reporting at the McKesson Corporation. Simon grew up in Montreal, Canada, and he got his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Universite de Montreal.

Thomas Butler is a Fully Employed MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on Entrepreneurship. He is currently working at Gilead Sciences as a member of the R&D team in the Medicinal Chemistry department. His current research is aimed at developing new therapeutic agents against chronic hepatitis C (HCV). Thomas holds a MS in organometallic/organic-synthetic chemistry under the tutelage of Dr. Lipshutz at UCSB and is a member of the American Chemical Society. Thomas, a California native, grew up in a small town called Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Shravya is currently pursuing a dual degree in Business and Public Health at UCLA. Prior to Anderson, she worked for the Strategy & Operations division of Deloitte Consulting for 3 years. Her scope of work largely included conducting Business Process Redesign activities for health care payors and biotechnology companies although she also has experience in sourcing and procurement and long term strategic planning. This summer, Shravya will be interning in the Johnson & Johnson Head Start and Health Care Executive Program in Los Angeles, Cape Town and Accra. She will also be conducting a consulting project in operations for the UCLA Medical Center. She is actively engaged in the Anderson community and will also be serving as the co-president for Challenge for Charity. Shravya grew up in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and graduated with a BBA in Business Administration from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
